FDI IN RETAIL: ITS OFFERS & CONCERNS

 

In part three of the 4-part series, Dr. Dhanashri Mahajan speaks of issues related to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), the safety standards offered to the local retailers and farmers by the Government.

Even as she voices her views, she raises concern about the ways in which different enterprises are being handled, the 'ambiguous' policies of the Centre, and lists the malpractices this 'FDI' can bring about, among other points of debate.

Dr. Dhanashri Jayant Mahajan is a socio-economic expert, who has specialised in Industrial, International & Public Economics. An Asst. Professor with the Dept. of Economics in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad since 1997, Dr. Mahajan has been in the teaching & research profession for 16 years now. She has atleast 8 books to her credit on Indian & international, micro & macro Economics, some with a focus on Marathwada region, among others. She is a life member of the Indian Economic Association.
